South Carolina Institute for Childhood Obesity and Related Disorders

Background

An estimated 25% of children in South Carolina are obese. Increasing numbers of these children are being treated for obesity related conditions such as Type 2 diabetes and hypertension. To address this alarming trend, the South Carolina Children's Hospital Collaborative created the South Carolina Institute for Childhood Obesity and Related Disorders (SCICORD). SCICORD has evolved into each Children's Hospital developing their own services to address overweight and obesity in children. Their respective contact information follows:
