Quality Improvement
SCCHC is committed to improving the quality of services provided by our member hospitals and their related providers. For the 2012-2013 fiscal year, the following statewide quality improvement initiatives have been established:- Working with the South Carolina Hospital Association's Every Patient Counts initiative based on the Institute of Medicine's six aims for improvement.
- Participation in the nation's only children's hospital health engagement network (HEN) led by the Ohio Children's Hospitals - the Solutions for Patient Safety initiative funded, in part, by a multi-million dollar grant from the US Department of Health and Human Service.
- Identifying and addressing the top three reasons for unplanned readmissions to children's hospitals.
- Identifying and addressing opportunities for improvement on infection control measures.
